Vroom Vroom Sculpture by Lorenzo Quinn
Lorenzo Quinn created this monumental sculpture Vroom Vroom features a vintage Fiat 500 grasped by an out-sized aluminium child’s hand. The name comes from what most children say while they play with toy cars: “vroom vroom,” evocative of the way we all sort of speak our lives into existence, validating with words that end up being just as small as we are.
Artists words: “Vroom Vroom” represents part of my independence, my freedom, my personal growth. This was the first car that I bought with the money I made from my early works. It was hard work, but the purchase was satisfying. I had obtained something I really wanted through my own effort.
