Life-sized Origami Elephant
As an ultimate prove that there are no limits to what can be made out of a square piece of paper, Origami Artist Sipho Mabona came up with the idea to fold a life-size origami elephant. Sipho financed the project through Crowd funding website Indiegogo where he raised over $26,000 from 631 funders and was able to get a 125 sqm or 2500 sqft sheet of paper and cover all other expenses to make it work.
Result? He’s done it! Sipho Mabona has created a huge, life-sized elephant with just one sheet of paper. The final work standing just over 3 meters high (over 10 feet), is now on display at KKLB (Kunst und Kulturzentrum Beromünster) in Beromünster, Switzerland.
Below you can watch the video, showing the final work, and the artist is sharing his feelings. The full production has been documented also and you can watch each part from the beginning here.
